We Celebrated Andalusia Day

Last week, we experienced a very special day at school, filled with excitement, tradition, and pride for our homeland. From the early hours, the school was bursting with color, as students and teachers wore flowers, red sashes, and polka-dot outfits, creating a festive atmosphere.

The final-year primary students organized a fun sports day featuring traditional Andalusian games. To prepare, they researched with their families and revived popular games such as pétanque, the handkerchief game, jump rope, musical chairs, and sack races, among others. It was an enriching experience that allowed us to rediscover and enjoy these traditions that are part of our history.

A true Andalusian breakfast was a must, where we enjoyed the traditional bread with olive oil accompanied by orange juice—a perfect moment to share and savor the products of our land.

Throughout the day, we explored Andalusian identity through different subjects: we designed fans representing the provinces, read and analyzed texts by emblematic authors from our region, and delved into the meaning of the coat of arms and the colors of our flag. To conclude, our teacher, Nora, surprised us with an emotional trumpet performance of the Andalusian Anthem.

Without a doubt, it was an unforgettable day filled with learning, culture, and fun. Happy Andalusia Day!
