Pablo Mata – Academic Excellence Award

This year, I’ve had the privilege of being the tutor of an exceptional pupil. Not only because of his academic ability—which is already impressive in itself—but because of everything he represents as a child: his kindness, his joy, his sense of friendship, and the way he makes every day in class better.

He’s one of those pupils who does everything well—not by chance, but because he puts maximum effort into everything he sets his mind to. It doesn’t matter if we’re in a Spanish class, a Maths lesson, sitting an exam in Project, running in PE, or speaking in English… He always gives his very best. And it shows—not just in his excellent results, but in his attitude every single day. Consistent, committed, curious, and always with a smile for everyone.

But if that were all, he would be “simply” a very good student. Pablo goes far beyond that. He’s also the kind of friend who’s always there—whether it’s to help with a tricky Maths problem, play a football match at break time, or even—this actually happened—improvise a rap from two or three random words, just to make his classmates laugh.

He has something that makes him special, something that makes him unique. And personally, I couldn’t be more proud to have had him in my class this year.

Thank you for your effort, your joy, your respect, your talent… and for simply being who you are with your classmates every single day. I’m certain you have an incredible future ahead of you, and I feel so lucky to have been a small part of it.

Congratulations!
