Teresa, “the perfect combination of method and capacity”
We are pleased to announce that Teresa Marruenda has been awarded the “Atalaya Academic Excellence Award” for this 2nd trimester.
From the very beginning, Teresa has always stood out for being a particularly constant and dedicated student at an academic level, being palpable her maximum interest in class and her desire to learn. She is a dedicated, cooperative and sensible student, capable of helping her classmates and working as part of a team, as well as achieving great results individually when the situation requires. Never change, Teresa!
1. Atalaya Good Citizenship Award: Taylor McKay – 6º A
Today is a very special day because we are going to recognise someone who makes school a better place because of the way they are. That person is Taylor.
Taylor is one of those people they call a ‘vitamin’. She is always there when others need her, ready to listen, to lend a hand and to make others feel good. She has a great sense of justice and never hesitates to stand up for what is right, with a serenity that makes her unique.
But what stands out most about her is her generosity. She not only thinks of her closest friends, but of all those around her. Her empathy and the way she treats others shows us that kindness and respect can change a person’s day and, little by little, make school a nicer place for everyone.
For all of these reasons, today we want to thank you, Taylor. Thank you for being an example of kindness, for showing that it is possible to be fair while still being kind and for reminding us, every day, how important it is to care for others.
This recognition is just a small token of how much we value everything you do – you deserve it!
Give Taylor a round of applause!
2. Academic Excellence Award: Lucía Martínez – 4º A
Today, I have the great honour of recognizing an outstanding student, someone who truly embodies the spirit of academic excellence: Lucía Martínez.
I have taught Lucía for the past two years and from the very beginning it was clear that she was someone special. Her dedication, enthusiasm for learning and commitment to academic growth set her apart. She is always eager to work hard, engage in class and go the extra mile to deepen her understanding.
One of the things I admire most about Lucía is her initiative. If she ever misses a class, she makes sure to catch up on her own, reviews the material, and even creates her own summaries. She is always prepared, always curious and always willing to contribute. Often, she brings insight from books she has at home, enriching our Project discussions with new knowledge and perspectives.
Lucía is proof that excellence is not just about talent but about perseverance, passion, and a true love for learning. Her hard work and dedication have earned her this well-deserved recognition, and I have no doubt they will take her even further.
Right now, Lucía dreams of becoming a paediatrician and I am certain that, with her determination and commitment, she will achieve anything she sets her mind to.
Congratulations, Lucía, on this incredible achievement! We are all so proud of.
