INTERNATIONAL BACCALAUREATE ASSESSMENT

In the spirit of continuous improvement and global education, Atalaya International School is pleased to share the excellent results of our recent International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme assessment. As an institution committed to the formation of compassionate, informed, lifelong learners, this assessment underscores our dedication to providing an education that truly makes a difference.

Under the leadership of our Headmaster, Mr. Luis Rosa Invernón, and with the meticulous coordination of Ms. Iraia Manterola Berrueta, our school community embarked on a reflective journey, assessing our practices and results in alignment with the rigorous standards of the IB framework. The process was not only a testament to our collective effort, but also an opportunity to further improve our educational offerings.

Our school, home to over 730 students representing more than fifty diverse nationalities, prides itself on fostering an inclusive and culturally rich learning environment. With a significant focus on bilingual education in English and Spanish, and the introduction of German as a third language, we are preparing our students for the global stage. The diverse nationalities of our faculty enrich our school culture, promoting a broader perspective on global citizenship.

Key strengths highlighted in the assessment report include our leadership’s commitment to lifelong learning, the promotion of international mindedness and our strategic integration of core IB components across the curriculum. Our unique Global Empowering Journey programme stands out as a beacon of interdisciplinary learning, engaging students in meaningful action that resonates with their learning journey.

The assessment report also praised our efforts to create positive school cultures, ensure a coherent curriculum and foster lifelong learning attitudes among our students. Through innovative teaching approaches and varied assessment methods, we ensure that our educational practices are not only effective, but also deeply resonant with our students’ futures.

Looking ahead, the report outlined several areas for further development, such as enhancing interdisciplinary work, improving our focus on the Extended Essay and ensuring the sustainability of our programmes. These perspectives will guide our strategic planning to ensure that Atalaya International School continues to offer an unparalleled educational experience.

We would like to extend our gratitude to our entire school community – students, parents, faculty and staff – for their unwavering support and dedication. Together, we are not only meeting the standards of an IB World School; we are setting new benchmarks of excellence in international education.

For our current and future families, this achievement reflects our commitment to providing an education that not only prepares students for academic success, but also equips them with the values, skills and mindset to contribute positively to our world.

Sincerely,

The Atalaya International School Team
