Celebration of the International Day of Peace 2025

At our school, we recently celebrated the International Day of Peace with activities that allowed students to reflect on their role in building a peaceful and respectful environment.

Throughout the school all classes carried out an activity in which each student wrote down their commitment to peace on a piece of paper. They started with: “I contribute to peace…”. In addition, they anonymously chose the classmate they consider to be the one who most promotes a peaceful atmosphere in class. We made a joint video about how we contribute to peace.

In Preschool Education the children worked on the importance of peace through creative activities, such as making pigeons with their handprints and creating a large banner with the message “Peace on Earth”.

In Primary Education, the different subjects were adapted to the theme of the day. Students read comprehensive texts about people who contributed to peace such as Malala and Martin Luther King, as well as taking part in a special word game on peace. Our 5th year Primary students created an ‘Add Your Piece for the Peace’ art mural, with each piece of the puzzle representing their contribution to a more peaceful world. And finally, the most exciting part of the day was when the 1st and 2nd year Primary students designed and flew their own peace doves.

Our Secondary Education students were invited to research the Nobel Peace Prize and the people who have been awarded this prize. We shared our opinions and reflections in class on the importance of peace in the world and in our daily lives. This exercise allowed us to deepen our understanding of how, through our daily actions, we can contribute to collective well-being and a more peaceful environment.

It was a day full of learning, reflection and commitment to a more just and harmonious world. Thank you all for participating!
