March 8th: Reflecting on Equality

To mark International Women’s Day, Atalaya International School has organized various activities to encourage reflection on gender equality.

Students in the first and second cycles of primary school wrote a letter to an important woman in their lives and expressed their hopes and proposals for equality in a time capsule, which will be opened in the future.

In the third cycle, in addition to these activities, a debate was held on the 1923 Teachers’ Contract, a document that allowed students to analyze the evolution of women’s rights in education and the workplace.

Furthermore, throughout the week, secondary and baccaulereate students worked with different types of texts in some subjects, encouraging reflection on the role of women in history, literature, science, and other fields. This fostered critical thinking and the analysis of gender equality from various perspectives.

It was an enriching experience at the school that allowed us to become aware and actively commit to equality.

Happy International Women’s Day.
