Chess Tournament

Last Monday, October 29th, Colegio Atalaya hosted our IV annual Chess Tournament

This tournament was carried out in collaboration with the Metro Chess Club of Marbella and was divided into two simultaneous sub-tournaments: one for students of Primary Education and another for students of Secondary and Baccalaureate studies.

A total of 70 Primary students and 34 Secondary/Baccalaureate students participated in the event, and for all it was an exciting and fun experience which allowed them to learn more about this sport and the values it teaches.

At the end of the 6 intense rounds played, the tournament podiums ended up as follows:

Primary:

1st place: Rubén Salazar from 6th year of Primary
2nd place: Alexey Filanovskiy from 6th year of Primary
3rd place: Fernando López-Pozas from 6th year of Primary

Secondary and Baccalaureate:

1st place: Eileen Jenkins from 1st year of Secondary
2nd place: Ángel Conejero from 4th year of Secondary
3rd place: Andrés Montero from 2nd year of Secondary

We would like to congratulate all of the participants in this event and make special mention of the healthy competitive atmosphere and good sportsmanship shown by the students.
