Commemorative events for the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women

During this whole week we have been commemorating the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women
The different classes learning about this problem and the students have created murals with messages, all of which have been hung in the hallways of the school.
We also held a commemorative act opened by María Sánchez Márquez, Assistant Director of the school. María spoke to the students about this problem in today’s world, as well as the origin and reason for choosing November 25th to commemorate it.
Some of the students and teachers from our school then went on to sing some Spanish and English songs whose lyrics refer to the problem of gender-based violence.
We finished the act by reading the names of the women who have unfortunately lost their lives during 2015 due to this type of violence, with the music of Joan Manuel Serrat “El club de las mujeres muertas” in the background.
We will continue doing our best to raise awareness among our students with a view to eradicating this problem forever.
