Lifeline
Students from 1ºESO class from school year 2020-2021 are proud to present the following video titled Lifeline, an original production.
The beginnings of this screenplay find its inspiration in the search to raise awareness about the problem of hunger and poverty which so many people are suffering from in this present-day world, especially due to the current health situation. A representative from the Comedor Social Emaús visited the students during the school year and shared first-hand experiences about the running and operation of this soup kitchen in the municipality of Estepona, which inspired the main theme for the script and video production. This eye-opening account allowed students to reflect and propose ideas for the characters who appear throughout the production. Through this multi-faceted project students were able to encompass many performance and artistic skills, boost their English as well as transmit the important message of helping others in a time of need. In addition to this video production, the class participated in a basketball shoot-a-thon and also promoted a school read-a-thon as part of their philanthropic activities and raised 2,490 euros for the Comedor Social Emaús. We hope that this video will also inspire you to help out as well. If you would like to reach out and contribute to this worthy cause, donations can be made to the following account :

Hats off to all the students for their outstanding commitment in making “Lifeline” a reality:
The townspeople of the fictitious city of Hopeville soon realize that the local soup kitchen is overflowing with people in search of a hot meal for their families. While many are waiting in line to be served a meal to take home, they begin to reveal their personal stories and share their plights which have led them to suffer from economic instability and sudden life changes. Seeing how there is a growing amount of people lining up at the doors of the soup kitchen, the citizens of Hopeville come together at the town hall meeting and decide to hold a telethon in order to raise money for the soup kitchen. The televised event incorporates a gameshow with dance performances and features callers who phone in to pledge donations to help the worthy cause. Thus, we have the creation of the “Hopeville Lifeline Telethon”. By the end of the telethon, together the citizens of Hopeville successfully raise a sizeable amount of money which will be destined to help those who seek meals at the soup kitchen, their haven of hope, their lifeline.
