This year we have changed the organisation of the classrooms in Secondary Education and Baccalaureate. Previously, each class of each grade level had its own classroom, and some subjects, such as Drawing or Technology, had their own classrooms to which the students went when it was their turn to take these subjects. From this year onwards, all subjects have specific classrooms, meaning that the different classes of each grade level no longer have fixed classrooms assigned to them.
We have taken this measure in order to:
1) Create a more appropriate setting that better contextualises the work in each of the areas that make up the curriculum.
2) Adapt the furniture in each classroom to the working methodology of the subject in question.
3) Generally improve material order and disciplinary control in the school.
4) Make the students move classrooms at each change of subject in order to enhance their learning skills. In this sense, the movement between classrooms has two main benefits: it improves their ability to concentrate on the next subject material and it allows them close each class session as an “episode”, thus promoting a better assimilation of the contents worked on.
